Antecedents and Outcomes of Fintech Adoption Lead to Sustainable Performance: A Systematic Literature Review

Abstract

The systematic literature review focuses on Fintech adoption and sustainable performance to fill this theoretical research gap in the literature. Adopting the TCCM research design, the study establishes the antecedents, mediators, moderators, and outcomes of Fintech adoption while detailing its sustainability implications. The review integrates 29 peer-reviewed manuscripts from 2019 to 2024, with social influence and performance expectancy. The findings establish Fintech as an important driver of improvement in the sustainability performance of social, economic, and environmental metrics. The identified methodological trends reflect the ongoing dominance of the TAM and UTAUT frameworks. The perceived technological advancements of Fintech and sustainability use the TAM most often because it is associated with technology acceptance. Despite that, the conceptual confusion between Fintech and Fintech adoption is addressed in this study. However, the current study defines areas for future paradigms, such as the moderating role, including new theoretical perspectives, and directions for further research. Together with this knowledge synthesis, the Fintech-based approaches reported in this manuscript enhance the development of academic accounts and applications for attaining sustainability.
