Generative AI (Gen-AI) Usage Policy

The UCP Journal of Business Perspective acknowledges the growing role of Generative AI (Gen-AI) tools in research and scholarly writing. This policy establishes guidelines on the appropriate use of Gen-AI tools in manuscript preparation, peer review and editorial processes.
➢ Acceptable use of Gen-AI: Authors, editors and reviewers may use Gen-AI tools for language assistance (improving grammar, spelling, and readability), literature review support (not generating citations), and idea structuring (outlining research arguments).

➢ Unacceptable use of Gen-AI: Authors, editors and reviewers may not use Gen-AI
tools for content generation, data fabrication (generate, manipulate or falsify research
data), AI-written references, and peer review decisions.
If Gen-AI tools were used, authors must disclose their use in the manuscript, e.g. “This
manuscript used [AI tool name (Copilot, Bard, ChatGPT]” for grammar and language
improvement. All intellectual contributions like ideas, analysis, and conclusion were developed
by the authors.”
If the authors misuse the Gen-AI tools the manuscript may results in;
➢ Desk rejection
➢ Retraction if violations are discovered post-publication.
➢ Blacklisting from future submissions for severe breaches.
