Abstract

In recent years, the need for advanced security systems has increased due to rapid urban development and the growing use of smart technologies. Traditional security approaches often depend on manual monitoring, which limits their effectiveness in handling complex and evolving threats. This study presents the design and development of an integrated security system that combines Internet of Things (IoT) devices with Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques. The proposed solution uses connected sensors, surveillance devices, and intelligent algorithms to monitor environments and detect threats in real time. Firstly, the data is gathered through these edge devices, this data can vary in form. Some of the data gets processed near the source of its production. This pre-processed data becomes more efficient for data transmission. Any immediate threat can also be detected during this pre-processing. Once the data is transmitted it is analyzed by more advanced AI algorithms. Pattern recognition is also performed during this. The system is designed to improve situational awareness, reduce the reliance on human intervention, and enable a faster response to security incidents. It achieved significantly higher detection accuracy (up to 98.7%) and improved system performance compared to conventional security approaches.
